After Level 7

Training Sessions
Once you have completed Level 7 of the Skate UK course you may consider to take your skating more seriously. If so training sessions are the next step in learning how to skate.

Training sessions consist of 60, 75 and 90 minutes according to your standard and include the following:

Warm Up and Stretch
The skater will be educated about their muscles, and how they work, and how to look after them as this is the most important aspect of any sports participation

On-Ice Exercise
Sports specific for the class level.

Ice Skills
Compulsory in tests and competitions, teaches jumps and spins etc.

Field Moves
Teaches a skater the use of skate edges using control and speed.

Choreography
An important aspect of training, essential in the execution of artistic moves, and inspires a skater's imagination.

Muscle Strength and Endurance
Sports specific exercises to ensure maximum skating ability is achieved.

Cool Down
Just as important as warming up, muscles need to be stretched to avoid injury and allow the heart to return to its normal rate.
