Beginners Learn To Skate - What to Expect
Once you have arrived at the centre you will be greeted by one of our course co-coordinators, who will check you in and direct you to skate hire.
At skate hire, you will be asked for your shoes in exchange for your ice skates, make sure that the skates are a snug fit because skates that are too big will give less support and cause blisters.
The laces should be pulled tightly at the foot area, but not too tight to allow for some ankle flexion.
If you have skated before, you may get on the ice.
If you have never been on the ice or don't feel comfortable skating on your own please go to the registration desk where a coach will assist you.
Our coaches are on the ice supervising for the first 30 minutes of each course (except Monday 15 minutes before your lesson)
so if you need extra help please don't hesitate to ask.
Please note,
If you have any disability that may affect your skating
It is advisable to inform the coach .
